Platform Buy Rate
A platform's buy rate is the set of wholesale rates DialStack charges that platform — per user, per phone number, and per VoiceAI location, in dollars per month. It is distinct from the sell rate, which is what a platform charges its own customers.
The buy rate is super-admin only. It is never shown to platform admins and is never returned by the public API.
Setting it
On the platform detail page, the Buy Rate card (visible to super admins only) shows the three per-month rates. Enter a dollar amount for each and click Save.
How rates take effect
- The first buy rate you set for a platform takes effect for the current month.
- A later change takes effect at the start of the next month, so editing a rate mid-month never re-rates the current billing period.
- Each past month is always billed at the rate that was in effect during that month — a rate change does not retroactively re-rate prior months, including the prior-month catch-up on the next run.
The Buy Rate card always shows the latest rate you set. After a mid-month change that has not yet taken effect, the card shows the new (pending) rate while the platform is still billed at the previous rate for the rest of the current month. This is expected: the new rate applies from the start of next month.
Before a rate is set
A platform with no buy rate set bills at DialStack's standard default wholesale rates. Set the platform's buy rate to override those defaults.
